How PlanSight reads a plan set
Not one model glancing at a few pages. A pipeline that reads every sheet, resolves the code that actually governs, and makes multiple AI systems argue before anything reaches you.
Drop in your plans
Upload the full plan-set PDF — architectural, structural, electrical, and site sheets.
It reads every sheet — in full
Every sheet is read at high resolution, end to end. Nothing is skimmed or sampled.
It figures out which rules apply
PlanSight reads the location and date off your plans, then finds the exact building code that governs your permit — by its date, not just today’s.
Every sheet checked against its trade
Each sheet is checked against the rules for its trade — structural, electrical, and so on.
It catches when sheets disagree
Findings are reconciled across the whole set — schedules vs plans, details vs callouts — so nothing slips between sheets.
Several AIs argue it out
More than one AI challenges every possible finding; only the ones that hold up under scrutiny reach you.
You get the report + marked-up plans
Plain-language findings with citations, pinned to the exact spot on the sheet, plus your plans marked up.
Several frontier models, adversarially checking each other
PlanSight is built to be multi-model: candidate findings are cross-examined by more than one frontier AI system — Claude, with GPT/Codex and Gemini — so a finding only survives if it holds up under challenge. Today’s engine runs Claude in multiple tiers with an adversarial verify-and-escalate pass; additional vendors are being brought online.
Why it matters: a single model is confidently wrong sometimes. Making independent models argue is how you cut the false positives that erode trust in an automated review.
Interrogate the plans in plain language
Every project comes with a chat that has read the whole set. Ask “Where’s the egress for bedroom 3?”, “Which sheets reference the shear wall schedule?”, or “What changed between revisions?” — and get answers cited back to the sheet.
- Grounded in your actual uploaded sheets
- Answers cite the page and finding
- Works for a homeowner or a plan examiner
Not just drawings — what’s actually built
Upload site and progress photos and PlanSight reviews them too: it reads what the image shows, checks it against the plans and the code, and flags mismatches between the approved set and the field.
- Multimodal — it sees the photo, not just text
- Catches field-vs-plan discrepancies
- Ask follow-ups about any photo
It finds more than the correction letter did
In our testing on real permit sets across multiple jurisdictions, PlanSight surfaced more issues than the city’s own correction letter — dozens per set — while reading every sheet, every time. You still verify each finding; the point is that fewer slip through.
